New Updates: (January 26, 2026)

  • UPDATE: “Login changes! As of October 3, 2025, a new sign-in process is available to Petrinex users.  To ease the transition to the new method of logging in, Petrinex continues to support the existing login process until the end of February, 2026. However, we encourage users to use the new login process as soon as possible.

Why is this changing?

As part of a broader Government of Alberta initiative to standardize how individuals and organizations sign in to online services, Petrinex is transitioning to Alberta.ca Account. This change supports a simpler, more consistent experience across government services and enables the retirement of legacy, service-specific authentication methods.

What is changing?

Petrinex is updating its authentication process.

Petrinex is updating how users sign in as part of a broader Government of Alberta initiative to standardize how individuals and organizations sign in to online services. Going forward, individuals will use their own Alberta.ca Account for Organizations and access Petrinex through their respective organization in Alberta.ca Account for Organizations.

Access to Petrinex continues to be managed by Business Associate User Security Administrators (USAs). Users are matched during sign-in based on the email address maintained in their Petrinex user profile, and authorization is determined by the access and roles already configured for them.

Users who have access to more than one organization will be prompted to select which organization they are signing in on behalf of. This change reduces the need to manage Petrinex-specific usernames and passwords and provides a simpler, more consistent experience.

New Petrinex Sign-in Page

To support the transition to the new Petrinex authentication process, we've added a preview of the upcoming sign-n page below.  This method will use Alberta.ca Accounts for Organizations. Industry users should use the sign-in link with the Petrinex Logo.

The current sign-in method—using Jurisdiction, BAID, User ID, and Password—will remain available until the end of February, 2026. This transition period is designed to give AB, BC, SK and MB industry end-users time to configure their Alberta.ca Account for Organizations setups.

There are no changes to the user-facing authorization features in Petrinex, nor to how company USAs assign roles to accounts.

📌 Action Required:

Please contact your USA to confirm your BA's transition status and ensure your organization is ready ahead of the end of February, 2026 deadline.
