What is a BA? BA stands for Business Associate. Any entity - such as an operator, working interest owner, shipper etc. - that uses Petrinex to conduct business is called a BA. - Alberta and Manitoba BA's use a 4 character alphanumeric characters ID.
- Saskatchewan and British Columbia BA's use a 5 digit numeric ID.
How do I get a BA ID and set up a User Security Administrator? If you're a new Petrinex user, you must request a BA Identifier from the appropriate jurisdiction. Each jurisdiction has a specific process for requesting a BA Identifier, which you can access through the "Apply for Access" link on the Petrinex Homepage. - Click the
"Apply for Access" link for your jurisdiction 9AB, SK, BC, MB).
- Complete the application and
attach the appropriate required documentation.

How do I change Petrinex information, including the User Security Administrator? While signed onto Petrinex, any BA user who has the Request BA Change task can
submit a request to update any Business Associate information, including changes to the Primary_USA or Backup_USA. - Click the "Request BA Change" link under the
Admin Menu.

Complete the request form, which resembles the "Requeasting a BA Identifier screen.
- Update the sections for the User Security Administrator as needed.

Attach the appropriate required documentation based on jurisdictional requirements.

Include documents listed at the bottom of the "Apply for Access" page via the
BA User Security Administrator Set-up and Change Process hyperlink.
Note: For Alberta, you will be requried to send the documents by email seperately from the Request BA Change form.
