Petrinex Disclaimer

The information contained in Petrinex and the Petrinex website is provided by the Alberta Department of Energy and Minerals (EM), the Alberta Energy Regulator (AER), the Saskatchewan Ministry of Energy and Resources (SER), the British Columbia Ministry of Finance (BCFIN), the British Columbia Ministry of Energy, Mines and Low-Carbon Innovation (BCEMLI), the BC Energy Regulator (BCER), Indian Oil and Gas Canada (IOGC)—operating within Indigenous Services Canada, the Manitoba Ministry of Economic Development, Investment and Trade (MBEDIT) and oil and gas companies of Alberta, Saskatchewan, British Columbia and Manitoba to improve the processes involved in the conducting of oil and gas related business.

EM, SER, BCFIN, BCEMLI, AER, BCER, IOGC and MBEDIT do not automatically gather any personal information such as name, phone number, e-mail address, or street address when you visit our websites. This type of information is obtained only when submitted by an authorized agent of your company.

Any personal information exchanged in this site is protected by security safeguards that are appropriate to the sensitivity of the information; this is our commitment to protect your personal information from unwarranted intrusion, release, or misuse.

We store the personal information you provide on computer systems that have limited access and are located in controlled facilities. When we transmit highly confidential information (such as a password) over the Internet, we protect it through the use of encryption, such as the Secure Socket Layer (SSL) protocol.

To make sure your connection to the protected Petrinex site is secured, look for either a 'closed lock' or an 'unbroken key' icon located at the bottom right-hand side of your browser's task bar. You may also check the address bar to determine if SSL is active by looking at the beginning of the address (if it starts with "https" rather than the standard "http").

Passwords are used to help protect your accounts and personal information; it is your responsibility to keep your password confidential. Do not share this information with anyone. If you are sharing a computer with anyone, you should always choose to log out before leaving a site or service to protect access to your information from subsequent users.

Petrinex services are generally available 15 hours a day, Monday to Saturday, with occasional Sunday openings. These services are not available 24 hours a day due to regular maintenance activities. Petrinex users are encouraged to view the exact hours of operation on a given day/month within the "Business Desk" area of the Petrinex website.
