What Changed?
Petrinex has updated how users sign-in as part of a broader Government of Alberta initiative to standardize how individuals and organizations sign in to online services. Going forward, individuals will use their own Alberta.ca Account for Organizations and access Petrinex through their respective organization in Alberta.ca Account for Organizations.
Authorization to access Petrinex continues to be managed by Business Associate User Security Administrators (USAs). Users are authenticated during sign-in based on matching the first name, last name and email address maintained in their Petrinex user profile, and authorization is determined by the access and roles already configured for them.
Users who have access to more than one organization can use the switch functionality by clicking on their user name in the top right-hand side of their Petrinex screen and will be prompted to select which organization they are signing in on behalf of. This change reduces the need to manage Petrinex-specific usernames and passwords and provides a simpler, more consistent experience. There are no changes to the user-facing authorization features in Petrinex, nor to how company USAs assign roles to accounts.
