To inform Alberta operators that, effective March 5, 2026, AER Annual Methane Emission Reporting functionality is now available on Petrinex. This tip has been updated to include additional tasks under "User Setup Requirements".

Effective June 4^th, 2026, beginning with the January 2026 production month, mineable oil sands operators who have received approval from the Alberta Energy Regulator (AER) to deliver and receive oilsands ore (Petrinex product code: Oilsands) between mineable oil sands facilities can now report the transfers of this product.

Effective June 4th, 2026, Alberta Waste Plant Operators will be able to report Vent and Flare activities in conjunction with the waste reporting code for Entrained Gas (ENTGAS) at waste plants.

To notify Alberta Oilfield Waste Management Facility Operators that effective June 4, 2026, (for the May 2026 production month and onwards), the Alberta Energy Regulator (AER) has updated the Waste Codes available for waste plant volumetric reporting in Petrinex.
